I'm in!

I'm very excited! I've been accepted for the Intermediate Copic Certification course in Calgary in June.  Woohoo!  It's filling fast, so if you're interested and have taken the Standard Certification, hurry and get your application in.   Sherrie Siemens is the instructor and she's awesome! It's going to be a terrific class!

If you're attending, let me know. I'd love to meet up with you.

An excited marker enthusiast,
Janet

Ruffles

I've created a second entry for the Simply Sassy DT call.  You've got to be in it to win it, right?  I wasn't overly keen on my first entry, and I was totally inspired by these papers.  Yesterday morning, I had a few minutes before I left for work, and began playing with these papers and punches and it just came together nicely.

I think it helps that I really love the aqua and brown color combo too.  I used these copics to color the Luv A Latte image: T2,4, N0, B04, R27, BG000,01,02,15 and E00,02, 30,33,35,53,55,57 and 59.  I totally forgot I had bought this ribbon at my LSS. I had that brainstorm when I was out driving.....don't you love it when that happens?!  I hoped it would work great, and low and behold, it did!  The flowers are from Prima. The butterflies are punched out of gold metallic paper using a Martha Stewart punch.  I also added some cork.  I punched around the edges of the cork with the scalloped edge punch.  That's a first for me--using cork on a card. I actually used it twice. It's also used on the leaves for the flowers, which are punched with another Martha Stewart punch.  Lastly, glossy accents were used on the coffee in the mug and I used my white gel pen to dot the eyes.

I'm off to Scrapbookers Anonymous and More to teach two copic classes this Saturday. We're going to focus on coloring hair and skin using Magnolia stamps. If you haven't popped in, you should.  Marilyn has a great selection of Magnolia's!  I'll be there from 1-5:30pm, so be sure to say hi if you do drop by.  It's going to be a blast, as always.

Happy coloring!

Put Your Sunglasses On

It's a bright card day!

I've used a Kenny K image. Another digi with attitude.  I'm loving stamps with attitude, and she really has one, don't you think?  She is called Download Diva and is available here.

I've colored her with copics and used some of the brightest paper I could find. It just seemed like a bright kind of day. Must be that spring is really here, and the sun is shining so nicely.

Have a wonderful day, wherever you are!

Simply Sassy

I've created a card using a Simply Sassy stamp today that I purchased at Funky Kits.  She is called Luv a Latte.  I've distressed this card using my Heidi Swapp distresser and some Tea Dye ink on the card stock. I colored her up using my copics.  I added a flower from Wild Orchid Crafts that I sprayed with glimmer mist, and then added some pearls for a little bling.

I used this sketch as well for this card. I'm entering her in the DT call over at the Simply Sassy blog.

A bright kitty kat in spring colors. Just what the doctored ordered. It's been raining here this weekend, off and on. I really love the first rain of spring. Everything is so fresh and clean. Well this pretty kitty from Digi's with Attitude is not so happy with the rain....but don't ya love her umbrella?!!

Magnolia Birthday

Here is my entry for the Magnolia-licious Easter-Spring Extravaganza.  I decided to create a twisted easel birthday surprise card. It comes complete with birthday cake and candles, and box to keep the candles in. I saw the card on a couple of blogs and found the template on Stempeleinmaleins.

The image is colored with copics and has crystal from Wild Orchid Crafts as well as a butterfly cut from a Doo Hickey die, and embellished with a spica glitter pen.  Stickles were added to the stars on the image for some added bling.

Here's a close up of the image:

Here's a view of the entire easel card itself:

It's Spring!

I'm going out on a limb here and saying it.....It's spring!  Since I've got to walk through a mini lake to get to my door, it's definitely confirmed. Spring is here to stay.  Ahhhhhhh.......I'm feeling much better already.  LOL

I've got another card with a spring feel to it for you today. This one features a Prairie Fairy image. It's been a while since I've used on of Roberta's Images, so I just had to pull Pretty Gillian out and add some color to her.  Here she is:

I'm in love with Gillian's attitude. Don't you wish you could strut like that, decked out in your high heels and pearls, wearing your spring finery, complete with gorgeous hat?

Copics were used for the image.  For the rectangle behind Gillian, I used a blue piece of cs, and spritzed it with three colors of glimmer mist. I applied each one separately and let them dry before adding the next color.  It's a different look, and it was an experiment.

Pink, Beautiful Pink

Cozy Nellie is colored pink this week. I used my copic markers R81,83 and 85.  So far this is my favorite pink combination. I used E33 and 35 for her hair and 00 and 02 for her skin.  It's a super fun image to color, don't you think?

I don't very often use buttons on my cards, but they just really fit with the sketch I used, and I think they work well. The border of the dark pink paper was created with a Magnolia Doo hicky die, and I added some pink rhinestones for bling.

Thanks for all your comments for yesterday's card. I've popped it in the mail to my cousin, and I know it will brighten her day, as your comments did for me.  Have a wonderful tuesday!

Life's Is Short--Eat the Icing First!

I"ve created a card for the MFT Sketch this week.  It's #13 and here it is:

Here's my card:

I wanted to use some bright, sunny yellow paper this week.  Don't you love the brightness of it?  Better put on your sunglasses, as it's really bright, eh?  I colored it with my copics and added some bling with a Heidi Swapp heart that I covered with bright yellow stickles and fixed to the card front.  I sponged some yellow distress ink around the background for the image to add some more brightness to it after I cut out the shape with my spellbinder dies.  I added some glossy accents to the cherry and some more yellow stickles to the sprinkles on the cupcake.

I just love it!  Any comments are greatly appreciated.
