Puttin' on the glitz!

It's a glitzy day at my crafting room! The weather is beautiful and everything just seems to sparkle.....which of course is extended to my card today. But--do you need a reason to add bling and glitz? Not in my world! LOL

Here's Tilda in all her glory...I found this paper at The Scrapbook Cottage in Steinbach, Manitoba. It's a great little store, with lots of things I haven't found in other places, including this wonderful paisley DP. Don't you just love it? I sure did. It was hard, though, to add bling to it....lots of colors and very different shades of those colors. I did manage to find something though.

I'm entering her in the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft Challenge #110
Just Magnolia Week 74
Totally Tilda
Whoopsi Daisy Pile on the Flowers
Crazy 4 Challenges C4C56
Delightful Sketches Make it Sparkle
One Stitch at a Time Challenge #32
Charisma Cards Anything Goes
Crafty Calendar Challenge 12
If the shoe fits Friday #48

Think Pink

It's time to Think Pink. Have you seen all the blog posts and adds out there for raising money for breast cancer research? Well I'm walking in the CIBC Run for the Cure on October 3rd, so I've been thinking pink for a while.

I decided to Think Pink and create at the same time. Here's my card:

Hope Fights is a digi from Whimsie Doodles and can be found here. I've had her for ages, but have never actually used her. It's about time, right?

I'm entering her into the Mojo Monday Challenge #157

Have a great day where ever you are!

Play Date Cafe

I chose to play along with the challenge over at Play Date Cafe. I'm pretty sure I missed the deadline....but I couldn't complete it any earlier, so I'm posting it anyway.

I used a Prairie Fairy image--Pretty Gillian. The sentiment was printed out on my computer. I looked for a saying about attitude, cuz I think that Gillian has one heck of an attitude. I couldn't find one that worked, so I used the word Sassy. Don't you think that Gillian is sassy?

I'm also entering this card in the Mojo Monday Challenge #157.

Hope you like it!

Polar Bears

I was drawn to this stamp as soon as I saw it. Polar Bears are really symbolic of Manitoba, which is where I live. It's such a nice, warm image and I decided to use it in a CAS card.

I colored it with my copics, although I barely used any color. I added some sparkle with my glue pen and dazzling diamonds. I used my labels 10 spellbinders to cut out the image as well as to emboss the base of the card.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Prairie Fairy Week 35 Embossing
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge
A Spoon Full of Sugar

Thanks for stopping in.

A Glamour Girl

I'm just in love with Kraftin' Kimmie's Glamour Girls. They are so cute--and definitely have attitude! I just got my first one in the mail the other day, and had to get a card made asap. She's called Raychel and you can find her here.

Here it is:

I colored her with my copics, and added some flowers and pearls to accent her. She's all ready for the Almost Black and White Challenge at Kimmie's Challenge blog. I also used the sketch from Paperworks Co, so I'm entering her in that challenge too.
I also want to enter this in the Creative Inspirations Challenge #43.
See you soon!

Cowgirl's Sunday Stamp'en Challenge

Happy Sunday morning to you all! It's a beautiful sunny day here--although we did have another frost....but it's nice and crisp! Gotta love crisp fall days.

Today the challenge over at Cowgirl's Sunday Stampen' Challenge is 'Anything But A Square'. Here's the card I made:

The image I used is from Delicious Doodles, who is our sponsor for this challenge.

I used my spellbinders to cut out the card shape and my copics for coloring. I also used some glitter on the wings and on the flourish (which came from a Tim Holtz die).

I hope you'll join us this week for this challenge. It's going to be great. Be sure to pop over to the challenge blog to read all about it for yourself, and to see the creations made by the rest of the design team.

Waltzingmouse Blog Waltz

It's WALTZ Time! I'm joining the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz this month. The theme this month is Halloween, but since I don't have any halloween stamps, I decided to use fall colors and the 'give thanks' idea. Sorry that I'm not following the rules, but.....I can't miss a waltz! I hope no one really minds.

I stamped the background paper with one of the stamps from the new set called Victorian Fripperie It's a great set to use for all kinds of things. It's so versatile. I used clear embossing powder on it and set it with my heat gun. Then I used my sponges and some distress ink and sponged the paper. I used the medallion stamp from the same set and stamped it in chocolate chip ink for the centre and cut it out with my spellbinders nesties. I used the scalloped circles nestie on the piece behind it. I added in some orange ribbon.

I hope you enjoy my card. Be sure to become a member of the Forum at Waltzingmouse stamps so you can get all the links to the other cards on this waltz. It doesn't take much time to join up and then you too can be a part of the fun and games over at Waltzingmouse Stamps!

Happy Halloween!

Pretty in Pink

She's definitely pretty in pink. I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #155 as a starting point for this card. I really liked the look of that sketch. I'm sure it will be one I'll use again. Black and white, with a dash of pink.....

I'm entering this in the Lovely Hanglar Only Challenge #07
and this challenge--Pixie Dust Studio.

Happy trails!

Strawberries

Today was the first day I felt like creating in a few days. I've been under the weather, but I think I'm back now.

I've had this set of Flourishes stamps for a while, but haven't inked them up. It sure was time to do that. I stamped the image in momento ink, and used......can you guess....copics! Surprise......not! Haha! I added some sparkle with icy stickles and pulled out a few brads. I also used my distressing tool from Heidi Swapp. Yes, I dusted it off and gave it a whirl today.

And speaking of dusting things off, I came across my container of eyelets. Now there's an embellishment I haven't used in years..and I'm not exaggerating one little bit. Do you use your eyelets? I think that would make a great challenge, since I don't see them used too often.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:

Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful
Fussy and Fancy Christmas colors
Aly's Sunday Challenge Sparkle and Glitter
Friday Sketchers 119

It's a 60's thing

When I saw this image, I had visions of hippies, love in's, long hair, and crazy wild colors. I've never tried a Stampavie image......I just couldn't find any at my LSS'. But....I came across this one and just had to try it.

It's a copic colored image, and I used the sketch for SAV Challenge #32. The paper was all in my stash, along with the ribbon. It's a bit wildly colored--but I was thinking psychadelic, baby!

Christmas Cards for soldiers

It's time! Time for the newest challenge over at Cowgirl Up Designs.

It's time! Time for the newest challenge over at Cowgirl Up Designs.

THE COWGIRL UP POSSE WELCOMES YOU TO......."COMING HOME"\OUR CHRISTMAS/HOLIDAY CARD'S FOR SOLDIERS CAMPAIGN!

This week is a very special week for us here at COWGIRL'S SUNDAY STAMPEN RANCH!

This week our challenge is to create "Christmas and Holiday Cards".

We would like for you to keep the Soldiers at war in mind while you make your card or cards! Please do not use glitter or anything flashy as it could put a soldiers life in danger! Once your card is finished and posted in our challenge, please send your card or card's to CJ and the address found here.

CJ will then get all of your cards off to the person that will be giving the cards to the soldiers at war to fill out, sign and send home to their families and Friends.

The soldiers at war do not have access to simple things that many of us take for granted like Christmas and Holiday Card's.

We're trying to collect as many cards as possible, so send as many as you like.

We will collect cards for about 2 weeks, so please get them out to us.

This is such an incredible way for the card crafting community to get involved and the world to be a better place.

Celebrating this campaign with us this week we have two fabulous sponsors:

Whimsy Stamps will give the winner 5 images of their choice!

Whiff of Joy will give the winner 2 stamps of their choice, plus CJ will give the winner 1 image from Cowgirl up!

Wow! What an amazing load of prizes!

We are looking to collect as many hand made cards as possible so spread the word and ask your friends! Copy this badge and make a post on your blog inviting crafters.
Post the Badge on your side bar. Leave us a comment that you have done this.
We will be hopping around to check and someone will win a special award!!

If you've made it this far, BRAVO! Now onto my card. Here's my card for this challenge:

I used my Tim Holtz die to cut out the flourish. I colored my image with copics. Isn't he the cutest! I used my spellbinders as well.

Have a great day card making!

Magnolia in the Fall

Good morning! It's very blustery out there this morning, and I just want to crawl back into my cozy pj's and curl up for the day. BUT.....I have to go to work. Darn!

Anyway, before I get out the door, I want to post a card.

I'm really in a copic mood these days, so I pulled out another Magnolia image to color. I used fall colors as my theme, and I really like this green! It's such a nice, muted color. I used some DP that I just purchased (but i can't remember where--does that mean I shop too much? Heavens no! LOL)

I added some stickles to her dress. Every girl needs a little bling! I also used some leaf ribbon I got out in Stonewall, Manitoba at Scrapyard. That's a great store. Hi Allison! I wanted to make the leaves float around the card, so I glued it down in a wavy kind of pattern. I added some of my Prima flowers and a little charm to finish it off.

I'm entering her in the Magnolia Stamp Lovers Fall Challenge.

Have a great day!

A reminder

Remember that Cowgirl Up is having a special day on Sept 12th. Our challenge is to make Christmas cards for soldiers who will be away from their families this holiday season. You can make as many as you like, and the address to send them to will be posted on the 12th.

If you post this badge on your blog, there's a chance that you will win a prize? We'll be checking out all the badge posts and making a draw for a winner.

Come along and join us. Wanna play?

Spotlighting

I'm not talking about hunting, I'm talking about spotlighting a part of an image on a card. I used an image from PaperWorks Co. It's such a cute ducky image.

I used some fantastic paper I got at my LSS. I can't remember the company though. I stamped my image with momento ink and colored the spotlighted section with my copics. I love the color scheme--sorta fall type colors.

I'm entering it into the sketch challenge found here at Paperworks Co. You should check out Paperworks Co. I see that they are having a release of some new images, and have started their sneak peeks. They look great!

Magnolia Strikes Again

I'm big into coloring with copics these days, and the Magnolia stamps really lend themselves well to that.

I'm not sure what Tilda this is, but it was great fun coloring her. To enter a couple of challenges, I could only use white and lilac....hence the purple look. I added some purple stickles to the flower, but am really not pleased with how that turned out. The flower seemed to have lost some of it's definition. Oh well--things don't always turn out perfect, do they?! I used my copics to color the lace so it would match the purple color I had chosen. Isn't that cool how versatile copics can be? I added some flowers and pearls for embellishments, and left it at that.

I'm entering this card into the Crafty Creations Challenge #83, and the Totally Tilda Challenge #4.

See you soon!

Lacey Pearly Gillian

I had a great weekend. I got tons of things done, including cards! Woohoo! I always feel so much better after I get to creating.

I created this card for the a couple of challenges. I fell in love with this image as soon as I saw it. Her name is Gillian and isn't she a doll? I think she has tons of attitude. I'm sure that's what draws me to her.

I used my copics to color her up. I'm still experimenting with coloring skin tones, and I wanted to try a darker skin tone this week. I used alot of pearls, and some stickles. Of course, I used my nestabilities too. I also sprayed the background with marshmallow glimmer mist, for that little sparkle.

I'm entering her into the Prairie Fairy Fun Fridays Pearls and Lace Challenge, the Color Me Copic Curly Hair Challenge, and Mojo Monday 155.

Attention! Attention!

On September 12, Cowgirl Up Designs will be hosting this event:

Be sure to join us that day, so you can get all the details and be a part of something great!

Cowgirl's Sunday Stamp'en Challenge

Today's the day! It's such an exciting day over at Cowgirl Stamps. It's challenge sunday.

Today's challenge is Anything Goes! How easy! Everyone can join us in this challenge. Our sponsor is Michelle Perkett.

The winner will receive 3 Images of choice from Michelle Perkett and the winners badge.

Top 3 will each receive 1 image of choice from Cowgirl Up Designs and the Top 3 badge.

Here's the card I made for today's challenge:

I used this cute image that can be found here. It's called Best Friends Forever and I just love it. It was a dream to color. I used my copics and I got lots of practice coloring skin tones. I added a little bit of bling around the image using blue rhinestones. The paper was one I found on clearance at my convention. It was such a great price and double sided, so both the print and the plain are the same piece of paper!

Make sure to pop over to Cowgirl Up Designs to check out the digi's and get coloring! I'd love to see what you create for this challenge.

Happy creating!
