Are you loving the sneak peeks of the May release for Waltzingmouse Stamps? I can hardly wait for tomorrow. I think my shopping cart is going to be very, very full.
I love the black and white theme for my card. It gives it a little bit of class. I used Verve stamps (sorry) and some dp that I had kicking around for a while. i embossed with white embossing powder as well.
I hope it tickles your fancy and be sure to pop over to see Claire's new releases on May 1. They're going to go fast!

Watercolor beauty
I visited Jennifer McGuire's blog and saw this beautiful card made with watercolor papers. I decided to give it a try.
I used the Curly Flowers cling stamp by Hero Arts and stamped it in versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder. I then sponged on some distress inks. I painted it with some macro pearl Pearl Ex powder, and let it dry. Then I assembled the card.
In the second card I varied the way I sponged on the ink.
I really like how it turned out. It has a little sparkle to it, and I love the distress inks. Yummy.
Thanks for looking, Janet

Prairie Fairy Friday Challenge
I created this card with the Prairie Fairy Friday challenge in mind. This week the challenge is distressing.
I used the birthday party cake stamp and colored it with my copics. I used glossy accents on the pink parts. I thought that added a bit of oomph to the card. I distressed the edges of the outer oval and the patterned paper with my Heidi Swapp distressing tool. I added the ribbon and black brad so I could also enter it in the card color challenge at the Brandon Scrapbookers Charity Convention.
I hope you like it.

Waltzingmouse stamps Blog Waltz
Hi there.
This is my entry for the Waltzingmouse stamps Blog Waltz. I created a rubber bank box using the template I purchased from their website. I then used their stamps to create my own patterned paper. I used my nestabilities to cut out the front panel and then stamped it with more Waltzingmouse stamps. A few rhinestones for bling, and voila! a gift pack for my mom for mother's day.
I hope you like it!

Mojo Monday 134
I decided to try a sketch this week, so I used the Mojo Monday sketch and a Stamping Bella image.
I colored it using my copics on copic paper, and embellished it with some ribbon and some jewels. The jewels are from Taylored Expressions.
Hope you like it.

The Birds
I've been hoarding these chipboard birds from Maya Road. To tell you the truth, I really didn't know what to do with them, but I really like them. They sat and sat and I took them out every so often and tried to make them fit on whatever card I was working on. No go. They never seemed right.
Yesterday, I was trying out a new technique using the cuttlebug, sandpaper, and acrylic paint. I love the lettuce and purple colors....they just seem so different together, yet appealing. Once I had the card base done, I thought about those birds and decided that this was the time to use them. I painted them with acrylic paint and sprinkled glitter on them.
Voila! A card is born.
I like how it turned out. Hope you do too! Thanks for stopping by,

Embossing Resist
I saw this card and really loved the look of it so I decided to case it. I used my Hero Arts Circle Doily stamp and clear embosssed it with versamark ink. I then used Ranger distress inks--3 of them--and sponged them on the card. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with spellbinders. I inked the chipboard brackets and then glitzed them up with some glitter.
Hope you like it!

Prairie Fairy Designs
I stumbled across Roberta's site the other day, and feel in love with her designs. They are really beautiful and unique. I particularly love this fairy.
Roberta is having a design team call and this is the card I made. I wanted something that would make the fairy stand out and the easel card is one of my favorites, so I put the two together.
I used my copic markers to color the image, and glittered up the wings with some stickles. I used a corner punch to create some interest at the corners and used the rhinestones to draw your attention to the image--the focal point of my card. I chose not to use a sentiment on this card. I love blank cards because keeps my options open, so I can use the card for any occasion. I can even add a sentiment later on, once I decide who is going to get this card.

Vintage Pyramid Card
Happy Easter to you and yours!
I've been eyeing up the pyramid cards that Sherry Cheaver has been showcasing on her blog. I love the images she has been using as well as the technique. So--I visited Twisted Paper and bought a couple of their images to give it a try.
Sherry has a tutorial here, if you'd like to learn how to make them yourself. It's really easy, but a bit fiddly.

Mother's Day
Here's a card I worked on this afternoon. I've been drooling over the doily stamps, and finally ordered the circle doily stamp from Hero Arts. It arrive today, so I wasted no time and got it all inked up. I think it looks great highlighted in silver embossing powder. I used my tag nestabilities for the sentiment, which I also embossed in silver. The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set. I hope you like it.

There's nothing better than a Friend
I was lucky enough to spend the day with one of my closest friends. Denise has been a very good friend for quite a few years now. I truly don't know what I'd do without her.
She's always there for me when I need her. She helps me think things through, and deal with the troubles that I come across. She's tons of fun and has a great laugh and sense of humor.
We met up in Winnipeg and spent the day shopping, along with her two girls and one of their friends. We must of walked miles, and tried on tons of clothes.
I even managed to get another Lululemon hoodie. It's my favorite piece of clothing right now. There's nothing better than a Lululemon hoodie. I also picked the bright orange one--something nice and bright.
I also got a great pair of pants at Reitman's. You've got to try their new style of pants. They are the best ever, for fit and comfort. Mine were only $30 too!
I hope to be back later this weekend with some creations for you. I'm working on a few right now.
Happy Easter.
