Recipe Friday at Paperworks Co

Today's recipe is titled Child's Play.  This was a challenge for me as I don't make many cards for children, but I love how my card turned out. Here it is:

I used Zoe the Tennis Player as the focal image.  I love those Zach and Zoe images.  I colored her with copics and added the flower and brad as embellishment.    I also used the Echo Park paper (Sweet Summertime) that came in an earlier kit this summer, but is available here at the store.

Hope you like this one, and I'll see you later this weekend with more creations.

All in Pink

This week is All About Pink for me.  I'm working up to the CBCF CIBC Run for The Cure which takes place on October 2 here in Brandon, MB.....and across Canada.  I'm a Co-Run Director for this location, so it's becoming increasingly hectic as we get closer and closer to the event.  That being said, it's going to be a great event!  We have lots of wonderful sponsors and volunteers.

If you're interested in sponsoring me in this event, send me an email.

Now, on to crafty things. As I said, it's all about pink. Here's my pinkiest card yet:

I'm really in love with these daisies. They are so pretty that they just brighten up my day.  I've used copics on them, this time using the RV colors.  I added some stickles to the flower centres, since every card needs some bling!

I hope these brighten your day.....just as your comments do for me. Have a wonderful monday!

Recipe Friday at Paperworks Co

It's a photo challenge this week.  Here's our inspiration:

And now here's my take on it:

The stamp is a Rachelle Anne Miller stamp called  A Birthday Cheer.  Cute, eh?  Fall colors for this card.   It's colored with copics, as usual and I've used my spellbinders on it. The card is actually a gate fold card--I decided to try something different this week.

Hope you like it and it would be great for you to join us.

Merry Christmas

I've got another card to add to my stash of Christmas cards.  It's a good feeling to get ahead.

I used an image from Paperworks Co. I love this snowman and his little friend. It's quick and easy to color and works in so many card layouts.  I added some sparkle with some frosted lace stickles. I added alot of layers to this card, and texture with my cuttlebug folder.

Hope you like it.

It's Party Time!

Here's a celebration card for you......totally bright and party-like.  I used an image from the Mo Manning collection. You can find Bronte here.  I don't have many birthday cards in my stash so this is the perfect time to add to it.  I got some new Bo Bunny paper and I love the bright colors. I went with mainly pink and added some bling to the image with iridescent stickles.  I used copics from the RV section to color up Bronte. Her hair was colored with C1,3, and 5.

Everything's coming up Teal

I've had this idea for ages. I've wanted to color and image, then cut it up and space it out across my card.  I managed to put that idea to paper this weekend and this is the result.

I used a Flourishes image and colored it with my copic markers--BG02,04,06.  I got to use my Authentique paper. I'm in love with their colors.  I added some seam binding that I also colored with my copic marker so it would match  (BG02).  Those BG colors have been in my case, but I haven't used them very much, but I think they will be a go to color now.

It's a great start to the week.  I've got more cards to show you. The weekend was really productive and I'm glad. I love times like that.  I hope you had a great weekend too.

Thanks for your comments. I read every one and appreciate the time you take.

Recipe Friday

Here we are with a new recipe at Paperworks Co.  This time we are to use distressing, lace and pearls.  Here's my card:

I distressed the edges of the dp with my distress tool.  I had some lace and pearls in my stash and just had to add it to the edge of the card. I also distressed the edge of my image with that same tool and added some TH distress ink to age it a bit.  The image I used is one of July's new releases. It's called Driving to a New Beginning.  It's a great image to color.  Don't ya love the mice on the bumper?!!!!!  That's my favorite part!

Hope you have a great weekend.

Recipe Friday at Paperworks Co

For the recipe today, Paperworks Co is challenging us with this inspiration photo:

What a gorgeous selection of colors!

Here's my take on the photo:

The aqua colors really caught my attention, so they became the focal point for me.
I used Alfy Tinheart from the Tinheart Stamp Collection as my image this week. Isn't he cute?  He's colored with copics. I also used some twine and buttons for accents.  I used spellbinder dies to frame Alfy and popped him up with pop dots.  The background paper was run through the cuttlebug using this folder.

Be sure to play along with us, as there are prizes to be had.  Stop over at the Paperworks Co blog to learn all about the prize you could win, and to see the other fantastic work created by the other DT members.

Altered Canvas

I have been working on a project for my classroom. I'm making an altered frame and inserting various canvases into it throughout the year. This is one of the canvases I have made.  I used some TH distress inks around the edges and some metal gadgets for embellishments. The key is a grunge element that I inked with TH distress ink as well.  I also sprayed the canvas with two types of glimmer mist.

Crafting When We Can

Today is the first challenge over at Crafting When We Can.    The challenge is "Do It Your Own Way|"....so anyone can join in. Will you?

We are sponsored by Heather at Fresh Brewed Designs.

Be sure to pop over and check out all the digi's. Heather has lots of fab designs.
Here's my take on the challenge:

A simple card to focus on the image.  I used only one copic marker for this image. I really wanted to draw attention to the hearts. I added some stickles for bling around the scalloped edges.  The paper is from my black and white stash.

School's Back!

Today is Recipe Friday at Paperworks Co and our challenge is to use the following:

A--any image
B--blooms
C--Charm.

Here's my interpretation:

I used Spring Swing Abigail C mainly because I always remember that the swings were the best part of the school playground.  That's such a good memory for me, when I think back to my elementary school days.  She's colored with copics.  I added the heart charm, because of the warm and fuzzy school memories and the flowers are perched on the side.

I start classes next week too!  A new crop of adults in my early childhood education classes begin on tuesday and the second year students return on wednesday. It's going to be a busy week...but I'm really looking forward to it.

I hope you join the recipe challenge this week.  Have a great long weekend....enjoy the beautiful weather and love up your family!

Gerbera Daisies

This is going to be a quick post today. I'm just exhausted and don't have strength to do too much.  This is my last birthday card for Flourishes.  I'm glad they had this challenge as I needed to build up my birthday card stash.  It's a blue birthday today. I also colored the jewel with my copics as well, so that it matches--but it's a bit hard to see in the picture.  I added a charm/tag that says happy.
