Spring Card

I have been working on a class for my LSS, and decided to try a spring card. I really like how it turned out. However, the camera didn't seem to want to show it's true colors. It's really a purple card, but it certainly doesn't look like that in the picture. Oh well--that's something I'll have to work on.

I used my flourish background hero arts stamp on the top layer using versamark and clear embossing powder, and used my new Tattered Flowers die from Tim Holtz. I added in a jewelled brad on the flower and the sentiment is from Stamping Bella.

Hope you all had a great weekend.

Watercolor beauty

I visited Jennifer McGuire's blog and saw this beautiful card made with watercolor papers. I decided to give it a try.

I used the Curly Flowers cling stamp by Hero Arts and stamped it in versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder. I then sponged on some distress inks. I painted it with some macro pearl Pearl Ex powder, and let it dry. Then I assembled the card.

In the second card I varied the way I sponged on the ink.

I really like how it turned out. It has a little sparkle to it, and I love the distress inks. Yummy.

Thanks for looking, Janet

Embossing Resist

I saw this card and really loved the look of it so I decided to case it. I used my Hero Arts Circle Doily stamp and clear embosssed it with versamark ink. I then used Ranger distress inks--3 of them--and sponged them on the card. I stamped the sentiment and cut it out with spellbinders. I inked the chipboard brackets and then glitzed them up with some glitter.

Hope you like it!

Mother's Day

Here's a card I worked on this afternoon. I've been drooling over the doily stamps, and finally ordered the circle doily stamp from Hero Arts. It arrive today, so I wasted no time and got it all inked up. I think it looks great highlighted in silver embossing powder. I used my tag nestabilities for the sentiment, which I also embossed in silver. The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set. I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by, Janet
