Waltzingmouse Stamps Challenge #3

Happy First Day of Summer!

Today is Tanner's grad, and the mosquitoes are out in full force--a sure sign that summer is here. We're planning some outdoor pictures, so I hope the mosquitoes have enough sense to leave us alone, just for a little while.

I'm participating in the Challenge over at Waltzingmouse Stamps. It's #3 this week, and we were given another sketch to use. Here's my card:

I used some new Bo Bunny paper that I got at my LSS. I just love purple! I used my Fancy Phrases stamps again, and my new Labels 10 dies from Spellbinders. Didn't Claire say that July's release may have something in it for the Labels 10?

I hope you like it. It's a short post today, but the computer is giving me trouble, and I've got to go pick up the cake for the grad, so I'm off and running this morning. I'll post some grad pictures later on.

Have a great day!

Waltzingmouse Stamps June Blog Waltz

Good morning Waltzers! It's a great day for a waltz. I've been looking forward to this for a while now. Here goes......

It's always good to have some masculine cards on hand, but they are a challenge for me, as they are for others. They don't come easy to me, and it's great to practise making some.

My first card is a thank you card. I used the sketch in a previous challenge this week, and liked it so much that I thought I would use it for today's waltz. I used the Fancy Phrases stamp set, which works perfectly with the fancy labels nesties. I just love those nestie friendly stamps. Claire has tons of them, so you need to check them out, if you're a nestie girl like me. Don't you love those brads in the corners? They are the ones that look like screws...perfect for a masculine card. I stamped the image and sentiment with versamark and then embossed it with clear embossing powder.

My second card is suitable for any celebration--grad, birthday, new job, etc. For the background paper, I used the Vintage Circles nesties stamps set and stamped it again in versamark and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I did the same thing with the sentiment, except I used the Fancy Phrases set for that. I popped it up on a pop dot, and voila! A card is born!

If you're interested in more Waltzers, pop over to Claire's forum where you can get the list of participants. Claire also has two contests going on--one for participants in the Waltz and one for those who waltz with us and count the chinese lanterns hidden in the posts. Better get counting....there's a stamp set riding on it!

If you love Waltzingmouse Stamps as much as I do, scroll back to the last two posts. I've got a couple of other cards posted for the current challenge at Claire's Challenge Blog.

I hope you have a great waltz. It's going to be an ugly day here, in terms of the weather. They are forecasting up to 70mm of rain, big winds, and there is a flash flood warning. Not so nice. If you're in my area, batten down the hatches!

Waltzingmouse Stamps Challenge #2

Hello again! Here is my second card for the challenge over at Waltzingmouse Stamps.

I used the Afternoon Tea Stamp set that I recently purchased. I really like this set---and I think I'm going to have to start having tea parties so I can use these invitations!

Once again I used my stash of Rich Razzleberry paper from Stampin' Up. I used my paisley cuttlebug folder to dry emboss the pink strip down the centre of the card. Next I distressed it with Rich Razzleberry ink.

I used my new butterfly sizzix die that I got, also from Stampin' Up. I just love how it cuts out and embosses these butterflies! I adhered the with glue dots. Once I stamped the image, I embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Speaking of tea.....is anyone a tea lover like me? Since the new tea store opened in Brandon, I've become a big tea lover. We must have over 20 different flavors of tea in the cupboard. In fact, I had to clean out one of my cupboards so I could have space to store all my tins of tea. My favorite at the moment is Tiramisu. That replaced my love of Caramel Creme, with caramel syrup for sweetening. I di purchase a couple of new teas yesterday, but I haven't tried them yet. I'm looking forward to trying Cranberry Creme and the Huckleberry. Yumm!

Well, I'm off to color for the rest of the evening. Hope everyone had the sun today, as we did. I sure missed it, and really enjoyed being out in it.

Waltzingmouse Stamps Challenge #2

Here is the first card that I've made for the Waltzingmouse Stamps Challenge #2.

I used the Tea stamps set that I just purchased along with the Rich Razzleberry Paper pack from Stampin' Up. I've been hoarding that paper, but this card just called out for it.

I stamped the image and the embossed it with black embossing powder. I sprayed the tiny flowers and the black cardstock strips with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist. Don't ya love that stuff?!! Marshmallow has become my favorite color so far.

The card is 5 3/4 x 5 3/4--this is quickly becomming my favorite size. Now I just have to find a better store, and more economical price for my 6x6 envelopes.

Hope this tickles your fancy!

Suzie and Vicki's Christma Challenge #21

Two cards in one day! I was in a creating mood and made a card for Suzie and Vicki's Christmas Challenge.

Did you notice the stamp? It's a new one--not available anywhere else. My partner Ken is creating his own line of digi stamps--this is the first one I'm posting on my blog. If you're interested in getting your own copy, email me. It fit perfectly with this challenge and I thought it was a great way to feature this unique image.

I didn't color the whole image, but I did choose to color parts of it using my copic markers. I followed the sketch and happened to have some snowman paper that worked perfectly.

Hope you like it--and if you feel so inclined, leave Ken some love.

Prairie Fairy Friday Challenge

Happy Saturday to you! I made it back from Treherne--it was a successful workshop. I'm posting my card for the Prairie Fairy Friday Challenge. We were challenged to use glitz and glitter in our cards.

I chose my the ballerina image and colored it with my copics. I seem to really love the bright colors so I went with that color scheme. I added glitz by using glossy accents on the leotard and ballet slippers. I added glitter to the tutu. Then I added some rhinestones to the card itself, in two places. The patterned paper I used came from a 6x6 pad of SEI paper--and it's full of glitz and glitter too! Bonus!

I've got a couple of close ups of the glitz and glitter as well. Gotta love glitz! This is a close up of the tutu.

Here's a close up more glitz and glitter:

Hope you like it. I really love how it turned out. Thanks for the challenge, Prairie Fairy!

Watch this space!

I'm so excited for my blingy card. I've made it for the newest Prairie Fairy Challenge, but it's drying as we speak. Why don't you pop over there, read about the challenge, and join me?

Watch this space and tomorrow I'll post that card, once I get home from Treherne.

Happy Weekend to you all!
