A Snowman Scene

I found this gorgeous paper at my LSS--Scrapbooking at Shelley's. It's just plain gorgeous, and since I was looking for a new non-traditional paper for Christmas cards, it fit the bill.

I used a Prairie Fairy image which can be found here. I colored the image with my BV copics, and used Martha Stewart glitter for the snow. I used die cuts on the stars, which are in the corners of the image and the silver snowflakes. I used the snowflake die cut made by cuttlebug. I used some button brads and added some white satin ribbon and bow along the bottom.

I hope you like it.

A new laptop?

If I bought a laptop what do you think I should look for? I would mostly use it for digital scrapbooking, surfing, etc. No gaming really.

I'd love to hear what you have to say.
Thanks, Janet

Scruffy

I finally got some new cards created this weekend. I was so happy since I didn't have any travelling to do this past weekend. I knew that I would get to create!

Here's my first creation for you:

I used an image from Just Inklined called Scruffy. When I saw him, I just had to get him. I have a dog named Scruffy, who has an attitude just like this guy.

I used brown, grey and silver to meet a challenge guidelines. I colored Scruffy with my copics--N0, N3, N5, R27 and R29. I used some brads that I've had around for ages and couldn't pass up at the time. I also used the Happy Birthday sentiment from a happy birthday set--I'll have to add the set name when I get home and can look at it.

Here are the challenges I'm entering Scruffy in:

A Blue Christmas

I've recently been enjoying making christmas cards using non-traditional colors. This is an example of one of them:

I love the red and blue colors in this. I've used a sketch found over at Paperworks Co. I used my cuttlebug folder to emboss the circles and then I used some metalliz lustre rub on to add a bit of bling to it. I've also added alot of snowflake buttons to this card too.

I hope you like it. we've received alot of snow in the past week or so. I've heard that we have now received as much snow in the month of November, as we did all last winter! And the most in the month of November for the past 14 years! I dread to think what that means for the rest of the winter. I hope you're not in the same boat as I am.

Fairy Fantasy

I don't think that there really is a person who doesn't like a fairy image. There are so many different kinds of fairy images out there, that I think there is one for everyone, no matter what your taste.

I do like alot of different kinds of fairies, but this one by Mo Manning really caught my eye. She's got style. She's got attitude! She's one of a kind! I hope you like her.

I used copics to color her up. Stickles were added to her wings for bling. I used three different punches on this card--a round spellbinder die, the lacey scalloped spellbinder die, and a martha stewart die for the fern-type leaves. I also used two different cuttlebug folders to add some texture. I added some martha stewart large glitter to the flower edges for added bling as well.

I'm entering her into the following challenges:

Mo Manning Challenge #58
A Spoonful of Sugar Anything Goes

Here are a few cards that I made for a design team that is no longer together. Enjoy the view!

I'm off to teach a christmas card class tonight in Rossburn at Gone Scrappin' in Bloom if the weather holds out. We're making a fun treat box card! I'll show you the samples tomorrow.

Pockets

I bought these cute little Maya Road pockets. I've been eye-ing them up for a while. I totally love what others have done with them, so I bought them. Then they sat on the shelf for ages. Every so often I'd pull them out, move them around on a card or two, and then put them back, not really knowing what to do with them, or where to put them on a card.

This past weekend, I took them with me, because I wanted to participate in a challenge that required a pocket on a card. I thought: Perfect! Now I can use those pockets! Well, it wasn't easy, but I got it done. It took me a while to get comfy with the design I wanted, but I like how it turned out.

I used a Mo Manning image which was colored with copics. I trimmed it out and popped it up with pop dots. I added a fuzzy flower for an accent, and used some leftover aqua paper for the background. (I used those colors for the Brave Girl album I created this weekend too. Pictures coming soon, I promise!)

I'm entering this card into these challenges:

Mo's Digital Challenge #56

Purple and Green Fantasy

I received my latest order from Magnolia-Licious just before I had my card making weekend--good timing eh? I got to try out some of my new stamps and dies.

I really like this new one. I think she's called Fairydust Tilda, but I can't seem to locate her on the Magnolia-Licious site--sigh--but that's my best guess. Whatever her name, she's a beauty. I used my copics to color her up and then my stickles to add some sparkles to the fairy dust. I found the main background paper at the LSS in Steinbach once again in the Christmas section---can you believe all the non-traditional Christmas colors out this year? I'm totally lovin' it!

Once I cut Tilda out with my oval spellbinder I sponged her with some ink before I removed the die. Then I added some flowers and some leaves I punched out using the Martha Stewart punch.

I'm entering her in these challenges:

Orange and Celery Sketch

I just arrived home from a scrapbooking weekend at Camp Koinonia, which is about an hour away from home. What a fabulous weekend! I went with a group of friends, and we had a blast! The company was wonderful. The food was superb! The weather was gorgeous! We all accomplished wonderful things. I feel totally refreshed (if it wasn't for this sore throat I seemed to have developed...but it's going to go away TONIGHT. I demand it too!)

Here's a picture of me out by the lake. Our scrapping room overlooked the lake. What a wonderful view we had all weekend. Thanks Buffy and Brandy for being such wonderful hostess'.

Here's one the cards I made this weekend.

I was so lucky that my new order of Tilda stamps arrived just as I was leaving my my weekend, so I could use her while I was stamping all weekend. I colored her with my copics and added some bling to her necklaces using stickles (thanks Buffy for the orange stickles). I also used the colors from the Play Date Cafe Challenge #54 and the Fussy and Fancy Sketch.

Hope you like her. I'll be posting more pictures of this weekend's creations during the week. I can hardly wait to show you my piece de resistance....my Brave Girl altered album. I just love how it turned out. However, I need some help attaching the hinges to it, so it will be on view later this week.

Polar Bear Christmas

It's a polar bear Christmas. I've been finding myself drawn to this Prairie Fairy digi image more lately, whenever I'm thinking of creating a Christmas card. Isn't it the cutest?

I colored a little bit of the bears with my gray copics, and added glitter on them again. I also sponged blue ink around the edges, before I lifted off the oval spellbinder--totally love that look. I created my stars using a cuttlebug die and a caramilk wrapper (You're welcome Tanner, the happy recipient of the caramilk bar.) The dp is another one I got at the scrapbook store in Steinbach in September.

It's a simple card, but I'm drawn to CAS cards some days.

It's all about glamour today

Did you ever wish you were glamorous?

Did you ever try to be glamorous?

The thought has crossed my mind, once or twice......but I'm just not the glamorous type. At least in real life.

However, in my crafting life, it's a different story. Just check out this card:

There is really no other word to describe me other than glamorous, wouldn't you say?.......

This beauty is a Kraftin' Kimmmie stamp and you can find Annette here. I prefer to call her Janet. (LOL--but only a little bit).

I colored her up with my copics, and added a touch of stickles to her eyelids for added bling.

I hope you like her as much as I do. I'm entering her in the following challenges:

Kiki Fairy to Welcome Season

A very good friend of mine just had a baby girl. Welcome to the world little Season! Today she is a week old. I made this card just for her.

Kiki Fairy is a Mo Manning image. She's one of my favorite digi designers. Her images are just awesome. You need to check them out, if you're not already familiar with her work.

I've colored her up with my copics, and used some stickles to make her sparkle. That's a prima flower in the top corner and some buttons from my LSS also. I even had to use some of my favorite dp on this card. I've been hoarding it, but this card just called for more bling. (When I was at my LSS I found two more papers, so I quicky snapped them up! surprise surprise)

I know that Denise will love this card, and I can hardly wait to snuggle with Season, although I think it will be a while before I get my chance.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
